How I got my wife: chapter 1

It was Fionna's 18th birthday and she had got a call from prince Gumball that ice queen was attacking and, the banana guards couldn't hold her off anymore. She was still in her PJ's because Cake let her sleep in for her birthday. "Oh come on she can't even give me a brake on my birthday" she complained to Cake. "Sorry baby but we gotta go and put IT on". Cake was referring to a new dress like outfit she had gotten as a birth day present from cake". "But-" "Oh don't you but me it took forever for me to find that outfit, now hurry up. Oh and eat this while on the way". It was Cake's famous sausage waffles. In less than two minutes Fionna had changed and was ready to go.
They were going as fast as they possibly could to get to the candy castle. When they reached their destination Fionna yelled to Cake "I don't see the ice queen anywhere." come to think of it she didn't see anyone anywhere but, she just assumed they were hiding. "She must be inside. Cake I'm going in back me up." When she opened the door to the main hall it was completely dark, she could barely see anything. "Ice queen come out I know your hiding. Oh and you better not have done anything to Gumball or I'll -". All the lights turned on in a moment causing Fionna squint trying to adjust her vision. "SURPRISE" yelled a crowd of people with prince Gumball right in the front making him seem the loudest of them. "UH" Fionna said surprised and began to look around the room. Everything was decorated top to bottom with candy streamers and other decorations. There was a big sign hanging from the ceiling with Manna the piñata that said 'Happy 18th birthday our heroin'. Everyone was dressed in their best. The entire candy kingdom had showed up for her birthday. Along with some of Fionna's other friends came to join the celebration including Marshall lee, and his twin sister Marceline, BMO, Simon strong, her ex- boyfriend now known as Flame King and his new wife Coal Queen. (Author's note: my friend's O.C.)

----Hold up FP Flash back time----
Flame prince and Fionna had been dating for almost two years and everything seemed to be going fine until Flame prince's mom had gotten very ill. At first he thought it trick his mom had planned to bring him home but, when he saw the kingdom in its horrible state he knew she wasn't lying. Yeah, his mom was evil but, she was a brilliant ruler and always knew how to control her people. After that day FP had became obsessed with returning his kingdom back to a balanced state. He no longer had time for anything but work, unfortunately that also included Fionna. With each passing day they were slowly drifting apart from each other. Their relationship didn't have the same kind of 'heat' it used to (get it, clever huh). Eventually Fionna and Flame prince split up, there wasn't an official break up but they both knew it was over. The thing was that neither of them had gotten heartbroken or sad.
 A few years later she got an invitation to the royal wedding for The Prince of the fire kingdom and The Princess of the coal lands. It turned out this was happening to almost all the princes in Aaa they had to get married or they'd lose their crown. It was a new law strait from the cosmic owl because, there were too many princess and not enough kings it was causing a magical uneven balance (which was a really bad thing). Lucky for Flame Prince he had found a girl he really liked and eventually loved. Fionna was very happy for them and traveled all the way to the coal lands just for the wedding.

Fionna stood in shock with a dumfounded look on her face. "Uh Fi are you okay, hun say somethin'." Cake said to Fionna while waving a magically enlarged hand in front of her face. Fionna mumbled something and just when Cake came closer to hear. Fionna screamed "ALGEBRAIC! This is radical. You guys are so MATH! ". "Good now this party can get started." said Gumball. Then Cake called out to Marshall Lee on his drums and Marceline with her base and said "Hit it!" When they started playing the crowd cheered and started to dance.
   Everyone wanted to dance with the birthday girl and she tried her best to do so but, after sometime Fionna had decided to take a break from dancing so much. She went to get a drink from the long table that was on the other side of the hall for snacks. When she went to pick up the ladle for the punch a hand touched hers by someone who was reaching for the ladle at the same time. Strangely enough there felt like there was a spark when she touched the hand. Not that spark you get from rubbing your socks on the carpet when you're bored but, a spark that felt warm almost good. She pulled her hand away and looked up at the stranger. Only to realize it was the candy prince himself. He smiled at her and said "By all means you first" gesturing his hand towards the bowl in his special princely way. She giggled and said "Why thank you kind sir. So how is your evening going"? She was trying to pull off a fancy tone but, apparently it wasn't very good because, Gumball started chuckling. "Indubitably it has been a joyous gathering." Gumball said trying to copy her tone. "Shut up Bubba" she said and lightly punched his arm. She and Gumball had gotten a lot closer over the years. Fionna even considered him to be her best friend next to Cake. "Oh hey! I know this song my mother used to sing it to me when she would teach me how to dance". Bubba put out his hand and with a bow asked "May I have this dance". Fionna took his hand and placed her other hand on his shoulder. They began to dance the king's waltz. "See I knew you were getting better, you are doing very well Fionna". Bubba had helped her with practicing her slow dancing because; whenever she tried to dance with Cake she would stomp on her paws.
     At first they blended in with the crowd but, once the spot light found their birthday girl everyone turned to look at them. If it wasn't for the 'Nice' she got from cake she wouldn't have noticed everyone staring. She thought that she was going freak-out or get really nervous. Then she looked in Gumball's eyes and that didn't matter anymore. It has always been like this, this would always happen whenever she would look him in his eyes, hear him sing, or give her that smile that made her feel like there were butterflies in her stomach. Even when she was dating FP if she saw that smile it was 'Flame prince who'? When this happened it made her feel horrible but, she couldn't get over him. It was so annoying sometimes. Why couldn't she have him? What was stopping her? She was smart enough, she was brave enough, and finally she was old enough. Gumball could see anger on Fionna face and asked "Fionna are you okay, do want something to make you feel better. I don't want you to be sick on you birthday." "Yeah I want something Bubba" she stopped and said with a cunning smile and said "You". "Huh-" is all he could get in before Fionna grabbed the collar of his shirt, pulling him into a kiss.
